Jesskomar Velarde Gargot is a first-generation, low-income undergraduate student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy with a minor in Sociology from Rutgers University. He is passionate about advocating for marginalized communities and dedicated to creating positive social change through public policy. Jesskomar’s research at the State Policy Lab aims to explore evidence-based solutions focusing on developing affordable housing for low-income individuals. His ultimate goal is to work in the federal government, fighting economic inequality and poverty to create a more equitable society.
