Jital Parikh is a rising junior at The College of New Jersey pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with minors in Public Policy Analysis & Management and Law, Politics, and Philosophy. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of public health, law, and urban policy, with a focus on health equity and structural determinants of health. As a summer intern with the New Jersey State Policy Lab, Jital will research how building codes and zoning laws in New Jersey influence community health, safety, and equity. She is particularly interested in examining how these policies impact vulnerable populations in urban areas and contribute to disparities in access to safe housing and essential resources. Following her undergraduate studies, she plans to pursue a JD/MPH or JD/MPP and build a career focused on advancing equitable health policy.
