Summer Internship Program

2026 Summer Internship Now Accepting Applications Until March 20th!

The New Jersey State Policy Lab is currently seeking undergraduate and master’s level students for our summer 2026 internship program. This paid, 10-week internship will take place four days a week, Mondays-Wednesdays in-person 9:00am-3:00pm at the Bloustein School and Thursdays remote 8:30am-12:30pm from June 1st to August 5th.

This internship is heavily focused on public policy research, and interns will have the opportunity to learn how to conduct a literature review, prepare an annotated bibliography, and make an end-of-summer presentation to faculty, staff, and friends on their preferred public policy topic. Through the course of the summer, interns will have the opportunity to learn from more than a dozen faculty members from Rutgers who will discuss their respective research interests and challenges.

No prior experience in public policy research is required, but applicants must be passionate about a particular public policy subject and eager to conduct research.

All applicants must be either undergraduates who have completed at least two years of study or graduate students pursing a master’s degree. This program is not intended for students enrolled in doctoral-level programs.

Please download the internship application form below and email the completed form to policylab@ejb.rutgers.edu by Friday, March 20, 2026.
