Brigette Thompson is an undergraduate student at Rutgers–New Brunswick’s School of Arts and Sciences pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Public Policy. As a summer intern with the New Jersey State Policy Lab, she aims to research disparities in food quality and grocery store access in marginalized communities that contribute to food deserts in New Jersey, examining these issues through a historical lens with a focus on discriminatory practices such as redlining. Brigette is also a writer for the Eagleton Political Journal and serves as Mentoring Chair of the Scarlet Chapter of Collegiate 100. She is interested in pursuing a career in public service through Congress or within law and legislative work.
