Dr. Jim Samuel

Jim Samuel, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Practice and Executive Director of Informatics Programs at the Bloustein School. He also serves as the interim Director of the Rutgers Urban and Civic Informatics Lab (RUCI Lab).
Dr. Samuel is an information and artificial intelligence (AI) scientist, with significant industry experience in finance, technology, and analytics. Dr. Samuel’s primary research covers human intelligence and artificial intelligences interaction and information philosophy. His applied research focuses on the optimal use of big data and smart data driven AI applications, natural language processing, public opinion informatics and AI education. Dr. Samuel has worked with multinational financial services corporations, and presently provides consulting and advisory services to businesses and organizations on analytics and AI driven value creation strategies.
