Stop by Booth #1102 and at the New Jersey Education Association 2024 Convention at the Atlantic City Convention Center from November 7-8, 2024 and learn more about the research the NJ Promising Practices Project is accomplishing for educators throughout the Garden State.

The Promising Practices Project is an important initiative launched by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) with the purpose of identifying and documenting innovative teaching and educational practices that have successfully accelerated learning in K-12 schools through the state. The research team, spearheaded by the New Jersey State Policy Lab and the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies, developed a rigorous, mixed methods approach to identify ‘positive outlier’ schools, i.e., those exceeding predicted academic growth, as well as interview teachers and administrators about practices they deem effective in improving student learning.

Ultimately, 52 schools throughout New Jersey were identified and agreed to participate in the Promising Practices Project. Researchers are analyzing findings from these interviews and will be sharing innovative teaching and learning practices at regional convenings in early spring 2025.

To learn more about the Promising Practices project, educators are encouraged to stop by Booth #1102 at the NJEA Convention this week and to check out the Promising Practices website.

Please reach out to the Promising Practices Project and share your contact information if you would like to be included in future updates about this project.
